Orange Tunisia was set up in 2011 together with Tunisian partners which in 2015 were replaced by Hope Travel, by far the biggest shore excursion agency in the country.
When Orange first entered the market, bar one particular cruise line and its sole agent, cruise sales in the country were practically non-existent – it was Orange that conducted the first ever structured marketing campaigns attracting up-market clients to its modern offices in the prestigious banking and insurance Tunis district of la Fayette.
Success quickly followed with Orange becoming the first and only company to attain exclusive rights for embarking passengers on cruise ships doing weekly calls at Tunis, thus having a 100% monopoly and enjoying a global cruise market-share of over 75%.
Unfortunately terrorist attacks taking place in 2015 have forced cruise ships to stop calling at Tunis, and the company had to downsize accordingly, but is still one of the only two significant players in the cruise business in the country.
Engaging both in B2B and especially B2C, the company is also active in other lines of outbound travel, including the organisation of trips for social travel for workers of major banks, insurance companies and other corporate customers.
